Restaurant website design, so hungry customers can find you, see your menu and order.
Ragnar Studios designs websites for restaurants, cafes, bakeries and cloud kitchens in India. Your menu, photos, location and ordering options sit in one fast page that works well on a phone.
- Menu, photos, map and opening hours that load fast on mobile
- Table booking, WhatsApp ordering or links to delivery apps
- Local search basics so people nearby can find you

Why a restaurant needs its own website, not just a delivery app listing
Most people decide where to eat on their phone. They search, look at photos, scan the menu and check how far you are. If the only thing they find is a delivery app listing or a social media page, you depend on someone else's layout, someone else's rules and, for delivery apps, someone else's commission. Your own website is the one place you control completely.
A good restaurant website design answers the questions diners actually ask: what do you serve, what does it cost, are you open now, where exactly are you, and can I book or order? When these answers are one tap away, fewer people give up and call elsewhere. Your staff also spend less time repeating timings and directions on the phone. That saves time for you and for your guests.
Your own site also supports the rest of your marketing. Instagram bios, Google Business Profile listings, printed menus, QR codes on tables and WhatsApp broadcasts can all point to one clean page. When you change a dish, a price or your timings, you update it in one place instead of in five. It also gives new visitors a quick sense of your food and your style before they ever walk through the door, which matters most for places that rely on word of mouth.
Third-party delivery apps charge commission and platform fees on orders, and the rates differ by app and by agreement, so check your own contract. A website does not replace them, because they bring their own audience. It gives you a direct route for regulars who prefer to call, message on WhatsApp or book a table without a middleman. We are upfront that your site supports your delivery listings and does not compete with them. Many owners keep both running side by side.
What you get with our restaurant website design
Every restaurant is different, so we pick the parts below that suit your outlet and leave out the rest.
Menu pages that are easy to scan
We lay out your menu in clear categories such as starters, mains, desserts and drinks, with prices, veg and non-veg markers and short descriptions. Text menus load faster and are better for search than a photographed PDF, and we can also offer a downloadable menu if you want one for printing or sharing.
Photo gallery that sells the food
Your food and your space are what make people hungry, so the design gives photos room to breathe. We compress the images you give us so the gallery stays fast on mobile data. If your photos are weak, we will say which shots are worth redoing before the build, so you can decide.
Location, map and opening hours
We add your full address, an embedded Google Map, a tap-to-call button and clear opening hours on the homepage and contact page. If you have more than one outlet, each gets its own details so customers do not land at the wrong branch. This small detail saves guests a wasted trip and a few unnecessary phone calls.
Table booking or enquiry form
If you take reservations, we add a booking form or a request-a-table form that sends the details to your email or WhatsApp. For events, birthdays and party orders, we can add a separate enquiry page with capacity, packages and a simple way to ask. Either way, you decide where the enquiries land and who replies to them.
WhatsApp ordering and delivery app links
Many Indian customers prefer ordering on WhatsApp, so we add a click-to-chat button with a message that is already filled in. We can also link out to your listings on delivery apps, so customers can choose whichever way they like to order. Customers who already know what they want can reach you in a few taps.
Local search setup
We set up page titles, descriptions, headings and structured data for a local business, and make sure your name, address and phone number match what is on your Google Business Profile. This helps search engines understand your restaurant. It does not guarantee a ranking, since competition and reviews also matter.
Who this restaurant website design is for
We build for food businesses of different sizes across India.
Restaurant website design for one outlet
If you run one dine-in restaurant, you mainly need a site that shows the menu, photos, timings and map, with a way to book a table. It is a simple build that saves you from repeating the same answers on calls and social media messages every day.
Cafes and bakeries
Cafes and bakeries sell on look and mood. The design can carry your colours, interiors and signature items, with a menu, a gallery and a clear way to order cakes or bulk boxes in advance by WhatsApp or phone, including your lead-time notes. A page for gifting, festive hampers or party orders can also be added if you sell those.
Restaurant website design for cloud kitchens
A cloud kitchen has no walk-in traffic, so the website acts as the shopfront. We focus on the menu, delivery areas, ordering by WhatsApp or call and links to the delivery apps you are listed on, with no map pin for a dining room that does not exist.
Multi-outlet and franchise brands
If you have several branches, each outlet needs its own page with address, hours, phone and map, while the brand, menu and design stay consistent. This helps customers pick the nearest branch and helps each location show up for its own area in local search.
Caterers and event venues
Caterers and banquet venues sell on trust and detail. We build pages for packages, sample menus, event photos, capacity and an enquiry form that collects date, guest count and city, so you can reply with a proper quote instead of starting from scratch. You can also show sample menus by budget so guests know what to expect.
Restaurants that rely heavily on delivery apps
If most of your orders come from third-party apps, a website gives you a direct channel too. It can nudge regular customers to order by phone or WhatsApp, which can reduce how much commission you pay, though how much depends on your customers and your agreements.
How we approach restaurant website design
A clear process keeps the project on track and your service running while we work.
Understand your outlet and customers
We start with questions about your cuisine, the kind of customers you want, your timings, your ordering setup and the sites you like. This decides the tone of the design and which features are worth building, so you do not pay for things you will never use.
Plan pages for your restaurant website design
Before designing, we agree the page list and how the menu is grouped. A short, well-organised menu is easier to read on a phone than a long scroll, and the same structure helps search engines understand what you serve. We also decide early whether any dishes need images, tags or notes about spice levels and allergens, because it is easier than changing the layout later.
Design the look
We design the layout with your logo, colours and photos, focusing on the first screen where people decide to stay or leave. You see the design for key pages before we build, and we make agreed changes within the revisions in your quote. The look follows your brand, whether fine dining, street food or a cosy cafe.
Build for mobile first
Most diners will open your site on a phone, so we build and test the mobile view first. Buttons are large enough to tap, text is readable, and call, map and WhatsApp actions work in one tap on common phones and browsers. We also keep the page light by compressing images, so slower mobile connections can still load it without long waits.
Connect booking, WhatsApp and maps
We connect the forms, the WhatsApp button, the map and any delivery app links, then test each one end to end. A booking form that goes nowhere is worse than none, so we check that enquiries actually reach you before we call it done. If you use Google Business Profile, we also match the details so your name, address and phone number are the same everywhere online.
Launch and hand over
After your approval we take the site live, set up basic search settings, and show you how to change prices, dishes and photos where the setup allows. We also tell you which later changes we can help with and how that would be quoted, so there are no surprises after launch.
How we take your restaurant website brief
This is exactly how an enquiry becomes a project.
Tell us about your restaurant
Fill in the form below or message us on WhatsApp with your outlet details, menu size and how customers order today. Photos of your food and menu help.
We review and call
We read your brief, check anything unclear and discuss options such as table booking, WhatsApp ordering or links to delivery apps.
Written quote
You get a custom quote showing what is included and what is not. Work starts only after you approve it.
Build, review and handover
We design and build, share previews, test the booking and ordering buttons, launch the site and show you how to update the menu.
Pricing, timeline and what affects cost
There is no fixed price list for restaurant sites; you get a written custom quote after we understand your scope.
Restaurant website design is a custom quote
Restaurants differ a lot, so Ragnar Studios gives a custom quote after we understand your requirements. If you only need a simple informational site with a few pages, our fixed-price 5-page website offer at ₹5,999 may fit, and we will tell you honestly whether that is enough.
Number of pages and outlets
A one-outlet site with home, menu, gallery and contact is smaller than a brand with ten branches, each needing its own page. More pages, more menus and more locations mean more design and testing work, which is reflected in the quote. Share your outlet count and rough page list in the enquiry form, and we can give a more accurate quote sooner.
Ordering and booking features
A WhatsApp button is light work. A booking form with email alerts takes more. Your own online ordering with payments through gateways such as Razorpay or PayU is a bigger build, with testing, policies and order handling. We quote each feature separately so you can choose.
Photos, content and menu writing
If you have good photos and a ready menu, the build moves faster. If you need menu descriptions written, photos edited or a shoot arranged, that is extra work and time. Tell us early what you have, and we will list what is missing. Good photos make the biggest visible difference to a restaurant site, so they are worth planning before the build starts.
Domain, hosting and third-party fees
Domain names and hosting are paid to the provider and are separate unless agreed in writing, so ask us what applies to your project. Delivery apps and payment gateways have their own commissions and fees, which you pay directly under your own agreements. Please check these costs with the provider before you decide, because they change over time and from one provider to another.
Timeline depends on scope and feedback
We do not promise a fixed delivery date before knowing your scope. A small site moves faster than one with online ordering, and the biggest factor is how quickly you share the menu, photos and feedback. We give a realistic timeline in the written quote.

Guides and checklists that go with this service.
What should restaurant website design include?
At minimum, a menu with prices, good food photos, address with a map, opening hours, a phone number and a clear way to book or order. Extras that help are an events page, links to your social profiles and delivery app listings. We plan these with you so the site stays simple and quick to read.
How much does restaurant website design cost in India?
It depends on pages, outlets, features and content. Indicative market range, not a Ragnar quote: simple informational restaurant sites are often priced from a few thousand rupees, while custom sites with online ordering cost much more. Ragnar Studios gives a custom quote after understanding your requirements.
Do I need a website if I am already on Zomato or Swiggy?
Delivery apps bring their own audience, but you share the customer relationship and pay commission under your agreement. A website lets you show your full menu, photos and story, take direct orders by phone or WhatsApp, and be found in search. Many restaurants use both together.
Can restaurant website design include food ordering?
Yes, in a few ways. The simplest is a WhatsApp ordering button with a prefilled message. A bigger option is own online ordering with payment gateways such as Razorpay or PayU. We explain the extra work and testing for each, and we quote them separately.
Is a PDF menu fine, or should the menu be on the page?
A text menu on a normal web page is usually better. It loads faster, is easier to read on a phone and can be read by search engines. A PDF can still be offered as a download for printing or sharing, but we avoid making it the only option.
Can I update the menu and prices myself?
Yes. We plan the menu so you can edit common items yourself where the setup allows, and we show you how at handover. If you prefer not to touch it, you can ask us for help with updates, and we will quote any ongoing support separately.
Will a restaurant website help me show up on Google Maps?
The website helps by showing consistent business details and local search signals, but Google Maps visibility mainly depends on your Google Business Profile, reviews and competition. We can set up both together. We cannot promise any particular ranking or number of customers.
