Why a careful redesign matters more than a new coat of paint

Many owners think of a redesign as picking a nicer theme. In practice, a website that has been live for a few years carries search history, saved links, indexed pages, forms and tracking that a careless rebuild can break overnight. Good website redesign services start by finding out what is working, what is hurting you and what can safely change before a single new screen is designed.

Common reasons to redesign are a site that looks dated next to competitors, pages that break or crawl on a phone, a slow loading speed, a confusing menu, an old platform that is hard to update, or a design that no longer matches your brand. If visitors arrive but rarely call, message on WhatsApp or fill the form, the layout is often part of the reason.

The risk is real, though. If page addresses change without redirects, links from other sites and Google results can lead to error pages, and visibility can drop. That is why our process includes a list of every existing page, a decision on which to keep, merge or retire, and a redirect plan before the new site goes live. We treat this planning step as the core of the project.

We are a full-service digital agency in India, and we have built 900+ websites and Shopify stores. A redesign is scoped like any custom project: we look at your current site, understand your goals and then share a quote. Nothing is promised about rankings or leads, because those depend on competition, content and time. Good website redesign services should be honest about limits, and we explain what we can and cannot control before you commit.

What you get with our website redesign services

Every redesign is scoped to your site, but these are the building blocks our website redesign services usually cover.

Website audit for your redesign

We review your current site for design problems, slow pages, mobile issues, broken links, thin content and basic SEO gaps. You get a clear picture of what to keep, fix or replace, explained in plain language, so the redesign plan is based on your real site and not on guesses or a template.

New design and layout

A fresh visual design with cleaner spacing, readable typography, a clearer menu and stronger calls to action such as call, WhatsApp and enquiry buttons. We design for the phone first, since most Indian visitors browse on mobile, and align the look with your logo and brand colours.

Content refresh

We rework headings, page copy, service descriptions and calls to action so visitors understand what you offer quickly. Pages that rank or get visits keep their useful content; weak, outdated or duplicate pages are rewritten, merged or removed. You approve the final text before launch.

URL mapping and 301 redirects

We list every important old address and match it to its new page, then set up permanent 301 redirects so old links, bookmarks and search results still land somewhere useful. This step is the main protection against losing the visibility your current site has already earned.

Speed and mobile improvements

Heavy images, bloated plugins and clumsy code slow a site down. We compress media, clean up unnecessary scripts and test the layout on different screen sizes. A faster, smoother site is easier for visitors to use, and speed is also part of a healthy SEO foundation.

Testing and go-live support

Before launch we check forms, links, redirects, page titles and mobile layouts, on a preview copy where the platform allows. After launch we recheck key pages and the updated sitemap in Google Search Console. Ongoing monitoring or maintenance can be agreed separately if you want it.

Who needs website redesign services

If any of these sound familiar, an audit is a sensible first step.

Businesses with a dated website

If your site still looks like it was built years ago, with crowded text, tiny buttons or old stock images, customers may judge your business by it. A redesign refreshes the look and makes your services easier to understand without forcing you to start your brand from zero.

Sites that are not mobile friendly

When pages need pinching and zooming on a phone, menus overlap or buttons are hard to tap, visitors leave quickly. Many customers find local businesses on their phones, so a layout rebuilt for small screens is one of the most practical reasons to redesign. We rebuild layouts so text, menus and buttons fit small screens comfortably.

Owners stuck on an old platform

Some websites were built on outdated themes or a platform that is hard to edit, so every small change needs a developer. We can discuss moving to a platform that suits you, such as WordPress, while carefully planning how existing pages and content are carried across.

Businesses that rebranded

If you changed your logo, colours, name or services, your website should match everywhere. We update the design, copy and imagery so the site reflects the new brand consistently, and we can coordinate with logo or brand identity work if you need that too. Consistent branding also makes your business look more established to new visitors.

Websites that get visits but few enquiries

If people open your site but rarely call, message on WhatsApp or submit the form, the page structure and calls to action may be the issue. We look at where visitors would get stuck and redesign the path to enquiry, without promising a specific number of leads.

Companies expanding their offer

A site built for three services often struggles when you have ten. If you added products, locations, a gallery or new service lines, we reorganise the structure and menu so the larger offer stays clear and each service gets its own proper page. This is common for growing shops, clinics and service companies.

How our website redesign services work, step by step

A redesign works best in a fixed order, so nothing important is lost on the way.

1. Review and audit

We open your live site, check your goals and note what is wrong and what is working. We ask which pages bring enquiries, which platform you use and whether you have Google Search Console or analytics access. This review decides how big the redesign really needs to be.

2. Page inventory and keep-or-retire list

We list your existing pages and mark each one to keep, improve, merge or retire. Pages with useful content and existing visibility are protected. Pages that are thin, duplicate or out of date are handled deliberately, instead of being copied across or deleted without thought.

3. Structure and design

We plan the menu and page flow, then design the key screens, usually starting with the home page and one inner page. You review the direction and ask for changes within the agreed revision rounds before we apply the design to the remaining pages. Nothing is built until you are comfortable with the direction.

4. Build and content

We build the new site on the agreed platform, add the refreshed content, optimise images and set up page titles and descriptions. Forms, WhatsApp buttons, maps and social links are connected and tested, so the site works properly and not only looks good. Your team can review a preview link before launch.

5. Redirects and pre-launch checks

We map each old address to its new one and prepare the 301 redirects. Then we check links, forms, mobile layouts, page speed and indexing settings, so the site does not accidentally block search engines. You approve the final version before it goes live. This is also where we recheck page titles.

6. Launch and follow-up

We move the new site live once you approve it, retest the redirects and key pages, and update your sitemap in Google Search Console. We also note any pages Google reports as errors so they can be fixed. Maintenance or a follow-up review can be agreed separately if you want us to keep watching the site.

How we take your redesign brief

This is exactly how an enquiry becomes a project.

Share your website

Send your website link and tell us what bothers you about it. WhatsApp, phone or the form on this page all work.

We review and ask questions

We look at the live site and ask about your goals, platform and which pages matter most to your business.

Quote and plan

We share a custom quote and a simple plan covering what changes, what stays and how old pages are redirected.

Design, build and launch

You approve the design, then the build, redirects and checks, and finally the go-live.

Website redesign services: pricing, timeline and cost factors

There is no fixed Ragnar price list for redesigns, because every existing site is different.

Custom quote for website redesign services

We share a quote after understanding your current site and requirements, usually on WhatsApp, phone or email. Two sites with the same number of pages can need very different effort, so we avoid quoting blindly. You can send your website link and we will tell you what we need to know.

Number of pages and templates

The more pages and unique layouts you have, the more design and build work is involved. A ten-page brochure site is a smaller job than a site with hundreds of product or blog pages. Pages that follow one template cost less effort than pages each needing a custom layout.

Content and imagery

If your existing text and photos are good, we reuse them. If the copy needs rewriting, or you need new photography, graphics or translated pages in Hindi or a regional language, the scope grows. Please tell us early who will supply content, since delayed content is the commonest cause of slow projects.

Platform change or migration

Keeping the same platform is usually simpler than moving to a new one. Migration adds work such as transferring pages, media, forms, users and sometimes products, plus extra testing. Online stores with payments through Razorpay or PayU need particular care and should be discussed before any quote.

Integrations and extra features

Booking forms, payment gateways, CRM links, WhatsApp chat, multi-language switching or custom calculators all add scope. Tell us which features you must keep and which are optional. Indicative market ranges vary widely, so treat any online figure as a rough guide, not a Ragnar quote.

Timeline and revisions

We do not promise a fixed timeline before seeing the site, because it depends on scope, how quickly you give feedback and how much content is ready. The number of design revision rounds is scoped per project and agreed in writing, which keeps the project predictable. Domain and hosting costs go to the provider.

Frequently asked questions.

Still have a question? Ask the studio directly.

When do I need website redesign services?

Consider a redesign if your site looks dated, loads slowly, breaks on phones, is hard to update or no longer matches your brand. If visitors arrive but rarely enquire, that is another sign. An audit helps decide whether a full redesign or a smaller set of fixes is the better choice.

Will a redesign affect my Google rankings?

It can if it is done carelessly, especially when page addresses change without redirects. With a page inventory, URL mapping and 301 redirects, the risk is reduced, though no agency can promise rankings. Results depend on competition, content quality, site speed and time after launch.

How much do website redesign services cost in India?

There is no fixed price because it depends on page count, design depth, content, integrations and whether the platform changes. Ragnar Studios gives a custom quote after reviewing your site. Market prices vary widely, so treat online figures as a rough guide, not a quote.

How long does a website redesign take?

It depends on scope, the number of pages, how ready your content is and how fast feedback comes back. We do not promise a fixed timeline before seeing your site. After the audit we share an expected schedule, which can shift if content or approvals are delayed.

Can you redesign my site on a different platform?

Yes, we can discuss moving to WordPress or another suitable platform, or keeping your current one. A platform change adds migration work for pages, media and forms, so it affects the quote. We will explain the pros and cons for your business before you decide.

Do I need new content for a redesign?

Not always. Good existing text and photos can be reused, while weak or outdated pages are rewritten. You can supply content yourself or ask us about content support, which is scoped separately. Having content ready early helps the project move faster and keeps the cost predictable.

Is domain and hosting included in website redesign services?

Domain and hosting are paid to the provider and are separate unless agreed in writing. Please tell us which domain and hosting you already own and who holds the login details, because that affects how the new site goes live. Ask us what applies to your project.
